The Singular Patagonia is a five-star luxury hotel located in Puerto Bories, Chile. It was built using sustainable materials and has made a commitment to reducing its carbon footprint, for example through methods of increasing energy and water consumption efficiency. These efforts were recognised by the US Green Building Council and the hotel was awarded the LEED environmental certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). The hotel itself is rich in character and charisma and evokes an aura of authentic Patagonia. The building’s roots stretch back to the settlement of the area; its brick walls are the same ones that stood even before the creation of the Torres del Paine National Park. The Hotel is now owned by descendants of some of people who worked on the site back when it was a cold storage plant, and the history of the building is evident everywhere you look. The hotel’s 54 rooms and 3 suites provide comfort and style without pretence, highlighting the concept of simple luxury, decorated with custom-designed furniture, and each featuring floor to ceiling windows. The views out over the Fjord of Last Hope Sound and the Andes Mountains in the distance, serve as a gentle reminder that Mother Nature makes the best artwork!
