The Iberostar Parque Central Hotel sits majestically in Havana, at the intersection between Prado and Neptuno. This spot was at the heart of Havana in the 50s and 60s, where well known Cuban orchestras such as Aragon and Enrique Jorrín played. This grand and imposing building has established itself as one of Havana’s best hotels since its doors opened a century ago. The hotel is excellently located, with the Capitolio and Gran Teatro just across the street, known for their excellent ballet performances. Here, Old Havana is right on your doorstap, and many popular sights are within short walking distance, including the famous El Floridita and Sloppy Joe’s bars, the Museo Nacional de las Bellas Artes, Havana Cathedral, the famous Pier, the Walk of the Grassland, birthplace of the cha-cha-cha, the Square of Weapons and the Florida bar, once a favourite haunt of Ernest Hemingway. Within a stone’s throw of the hotel doors is Calle Obispo, which leads you down into colonial Habana Vieja.
The hotel has a cosmopolitan, comfortable atmosphere and an elegant Spanish Colonial influence. The 277 rooms are spacious, feature wooden furniture of classic style and have a fabulous view of Parque Central, the famous walk of the Grassland or the Baroque and Rococo buildings surrounding the hotel. Excellent facilities include the ‘Mediterráneo’ restaurant, ‘El Paseo’ restaurant, ‘El Pórtico’ Lobby Bar which treats guests to an atmosphere of a subtropical garden, ‘Alameda’ living room and the ‘Nuevo Mundo’ Pool Bar.
