HighlivesPrice: From £1200 per person

The experience begins with a guided sightseeing tour of Lima’s historical centre, which dates back to 1535 and includes some of the continents greatest examples of colonial art.

A flight to the highlands leads to a special two-night stay at the Aranwa wellness centre nestled in Peru’s Sacred Valley helps ease both mind and body. This includes a daily class of yoga, several sessions of Swedish, therapeutic, reflexology and shiatsu massage, hydro massage, sauna, gym and meditation rooms.

Next by train to elevated hideaway of Machu Picchu, whereupon arrival you will be given a guided tour of this citadel lost to the jungle until 1911. After a hotel stay nearby, return for a second day for an opportunity to witness the site at sunrise or climb the adjacent Huayna Picchu peak for a terrific view of the magnificent complex.
