A 13-day journey across Peru to spot some of Paddington Bear’s relatives in their natural home and many of the country’s cultural highlights such as Machu Picchu, colonial Lima and Trujillo’s mysterious Moche pyramid.
The trip includes a two-night stay in a rustic lodge hidden away in a remote natural park in Peru’s mountainous north-west which houses a centre for rescued Spectacled Bears (Chaparri Reserve). The sparse dry forest can be explored with a guide to spot wild bears and other wildlife including the Sechuran Fox, White-Tailed Deer and the iconic Andean Condor.

- Day 1: Lima
You will be welcomed by our staff at the airport in Lima and transferred to your hotel.
- Day 2: Lima
Today you will enjoy a full day tour through the City of Lima. You will visit Huaca Pucllana; colonial part of Lima; the Barranco district; and “MATE”, the museum of Marino Testino.
- Day 3: Lima - Trujillo
You will be transferred to the airport to board your flight to Trujillo. You will visit the highlights of the city plus Huaca Dragon (a temple dedicated to the Rainbow); Huanchaco beach (an ancient Chimú port); and the ancient city of Chan Chan.
- Day 4: Trujillo – Chiclayo
In the morning, you will begin your journey to Chiclayo. On the way you will visit El Brujo pyramid and the Tumbas Reales Museum.
- Day 5: Chiclayo – Chaparri
In the morning you will be transferred to the Chaparri Reserve.
After lunch you will take the Wachuma and Osos Trail for a chance to spot an Andean bear (Paddington's relatives) or other species that inhabit the Dry Forest.
- Day 6: Chaparri
In the morning you can visit the bathing spot of the Hummingbird. Later you will follow the Osos or Bear trail system.
In the afternoon you will have lunch before you visit the Chaparri Creek. You will explore further trails with your guide.
- Day 7: Chaparri - Chiclayo
Back in Chiclayo you will visit Túcume, known as the Valley of the Pyramids. You will also visit the “Witches Market”, where local healers buy their herbs.
- Day 8: Chiclayo – Lima – Cusco
You will be transferred to the airport to board your flight back to Lima. There you will board your flight to Cusco, the heart of the Inca Empire. In Cusco a guide will escort you to your hotel, where you have time to rest and acclimatise.
- Day 9: Cusco
You will be picked up from your hotel to start a city tour visiting Cusco’s Historical Inca and Spanish Colonial Monuments. After the city tour you will visit the ruins surrounding the city of Cusco.
- Day 10: Cusco - Sacred Valley
In the morning you will be collected from your hotel and driven overland to the Sacred Valley and to the archaeological complex of Pisac.
- Day 11: Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu
In the morning you will board the First Class Train to Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu. On arrival you will have a tour of the Citadel where you will appreciate the history of this enigmatic and impressive place.
- Day 12: Machu Picchu – Cusco
Today you will have a chance to witness the work of the Spectacled Bear Project. The Project recovers bears that have been negatively affected by human impact, and reintroduces them into their natural habit.
- Day 13: Cusco - Lima - Departure
You will be transferred to the airport to board your flight to Lima and from there your international flight.
